About Emily
Emily (They/Them) is a theatre artist who got their start acting when they were just six years old. Their first role was in their church's Christmas Pageant Bus to Bethlehem. Since then, they've fallen in love with Shakespeare, improvisation, directing, and singing. They pride themselves on finding joy in the work and love that their career allows them to encounter so many different people, places, and stories!
In both their work and their life, Emily is working to be more comfortable with taking up the space they deserve. As a tall, fat, AFAB non-binary person, they are constantly trying to push themselves to show up as their fullest self rather than paring down who they are to fit in.

Emily is passionate about theatre education and using theatre as a tool to teach for young people. Their first foray into teaching theatre to young people was in the spring of 2019 when they also served as the Youth Drama Director for Hands of Peace, an after school program for children K-5 that teaches messages of peace and tolerance through the arts.
In the summer of 2023, they were a member of the young artist's troupe Merely Players at the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival which toured through the Chippewa Valley and performed "Shakes-pired," original works for children (one of which Emily wrote!). That summer, they were also an intern and teacher for summer K-12 programming at the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, the community theatre that they grew up in.
